SENDING YOU A HUG

Had to share this picture of Jake and my daughter's kitty, Justin, with you.  (My daughter names all her pets with real people names - we've had a Bob and a Steve.)  Guess I shouldn't talk, since I named my little man, Jake.  Anyway, caught these little guys in a bear hug this morning, by the looks on their faces, I caught them off guard.  Hope you get a big o'l hug today from someone.  I am sending one out there to you all!

Today, I am finishing up on my offerings for Pfatt and SpookyTime Jingles.  Stay tuned as pictures will be posted soon.  Until then, take care my friends!

Art Doll Quarterly 2013 - Halloween Issue Almost Here!

Hi Everyone!

Hope you have been well and enjoying your summer.  I am so thankful that our little heatwave has calmed down slightly.   It is hard to create when you just want to lay under the air conditioner vent all day.  My little dog, Jake and I are turning into lounge lizards.  Not very productive, but we enjoy gazing into each others eyes.  (Puppy Love)

Well, I am happy to announce that Art Doll Quarterly is almost out in stores - August 1st!!  YAY!  I know that some subscribers to the magazine already have their copy, and I was lucky enough to get mine in the mail last Saturday.  Since this is my first time being published, I have been waiting on pins and needles for the days to tick by.  It truly is like Christmas in July and I have been waiting for my "BIG" present from Santa!!  Hey? ... I've been good!  Holding the magazine in my hands, my family gathered around to have the unveiling.  I was so nervous and excited at the same time.

WOW!  It is so wild to see your art on those glossy pages.
You can find Charmed Confections artwork on pages 104, 105 and 106.

For those of you out there who have always wanted to do something like this .... I say "Be Brave and Submit!"  My family and friends are my best cheerleaders.  They say go for it and I always doubt myself.  I am so glad I stepped out of the shadows and tried.  Be brave my blog friends!  Step out into the sun and be daring - you just might shine (at least for a little while)!!  If you have a dream - dare to make it a reality.  You can do it!  I'll cheer YOU on.

Thank you to my family, friends and customers who cheer me on  - one foot in front of the other.  You are the gems in my (invisible) crown - and it's a big one too!!  (Yes ... I'll always be a girlie-girl.)

Two of my very dear friends are in the magazine as well.  It is such an honor to be listed alongside them and all the other fabulous artists represented.

Carly of Boggy Bottom Bayou -- Check out her article - The Bling Factor!  She is on page 10 and page 69.
Here is her blog link:

and,

Lisa of  "A Piece of Lisa" -- Lisa's adorable White Witch is listed in Show and Tell with me.

Well, I am off to sculpt more heads.  I am working on some new pieces and will have some work in progress pictures for you soon.

Take care my friends! XOXO

SpookyTime Jingles Upcoming Artwork and a Sweet Treat!

Hi out there!

Hope you are all having a good Wednesday.  Don't you love the above picture?  I couldn't resist.   Love her headless dolly! (Wednesday from the Addams Family)

Well, Pfatt Marketplace updated today and I am happy to say that one of my ghost sold.  YAY!  and I have an order for another.  Double YAY!

As promised, here are pictures of my ghosts that will be appearing on SpookyTime Jingles on July 13th.

Dexter is SOLD - Thank you!

This is Dexter the Hexter --- Don't you love his devilish smile?

I think I will be adding a treat bag to Linus' other hand.  He definitely needs more candy.  So new pictures with that accessory will be posted on SpookyTime the day of the upload.  (Ok ... going to revoke this statement ... when I added the candy bucket, you couldn't see how cute his body was, as the candy bucket hid it. I think he looked better without it.  Sometimes less is more!)

In the meantime, I made up some cute Halloween Cupcake Ornies.  These would be perfect on your Halloween tree or anywhere you need a little sweet whimsy.  I have two sets available in my Etsy Shoppe.

Here is the link:  http://www.etsy.com/listing/156391805/charmed-confections-halloween-cupcake?ref=shop_home_active

You get a set of 6 cupcakes for $25.00, plus shipping.  3 cupcakes with an orange ribbon and 3 with a purple ribbon.

Do you see the tiny cat faces and spiderweb candies?  Too cute!!

Well, I am off to play bunco with a bunch of crazy ladies.  I am so ready to have a little fun!

Have a great evening!!  XOXO

Works in Progress, A Happy Birthday, My Special Winnings and Sharing the FAAP Love!

Hi Everyone!

Hope this post find you all happy and healthy.  Things have been so busy here in my world.  I am trying to stay sane, meet my artistic deadlines, work my day job, take care of the family, and be creative at the same time.  Can one do that?  I am so trying -- sounds impossible at times.

Well, Pfatt Marketplace updates on the 10th of this month and right after on SpookyTime Jingles new artwork posts on the 13th.  So, I have been frantically working on getting my offerings ready to go.  Here is a sneak peek of some of my new ghosts.

Yes, they are a work in progress.  Need to do some final detailing on their faces and bodies, insert their arms, cover their bodies in some really cool sheer netting I found, make their collars, add accessories and voila' they will  be ready to go!  This is not a great picture as I took it with my phone.  There is a lot of great dry brushing to them that you cannot see.  I know you like pictures like this, but I always hesitate because they are not finished and I want them to be perfect before I share.  What is a girl to do?  They will look so different when they are finished - just a few more hours.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Moving right along to some wonderful news.  We have a birthday boy in the house!!  Yes ... my sweet, little man, Jake is celebrating his 1st birthday.  Awe Jake, you are the BEST!  He is definitely a girl's best friend too.  My life is sweeter every day with you in it!  XOXO
Here is a picture of my winnings from A Piece of Lisa's Blog Giveaway.  His name is Frosty!  I like to call him Mr. Chill.  It has been so hot here, I just feel better looking at this little guy.  Isn't he cute?!  Anyway, I hardly ever sign up for a giveaway.  I usually never win.  To my surprise, I actually won this one.  This NEVER happens.  What fun!  What excitement!  What joy!  Mr. Chill now lives with me and Jake.  YAY!!
And I have to tell you, Lisa packed him up so nice.  He was sent with a bow, wonderful description card and then a write up of Lisa's artistic journey on the back (which I absolutely loved reading - what a great presentation).  Here is the link to Lisa's blog and Etsy site.  Please check out her work.   Thank so much, Lisa!  I am so happy to have a piece of your art!  Hugs!
FOLKART AND PRIMITIVES (FAAP) GROUP on ETSY
As I mentioned in my previous blog post, I joined up with a group call Folkart and Primitives (FAAP) on Etsy.  I know my art is not so much primitive, so I guess I will be the folkart part to their prims.  Regardless, I am really happy to be a part of this collaboration of incredibly sweet, caring, super talented group of artists!  Never in my whole life have I been accepted to a group where everyone I have met treats you with genuine  kindness and is willing to promote each other.  Kinda unheard of nowadays.  I am truly honored to be a member and eager to promote them as well.
You will see me post about this group often.  To see their offerings, go to my sidebar and click on the link to FAAPs Etsy offerings.   They also have a blog you will want to follow.  There will be several giveaways and events coming up.  These sweet ladies even did a write up on Charmed Confections and my Etsy Shoppe.  So nice and I can't thank them enough!  Here is the link:
Well, that is it for now.  I will be posting again to remind you all about the Pfatt Marketplace update and to show you some finished pictures of those ghosts.  In the meantime, have a wonderful 4th of July!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA - LAND THAT I LOVE!!  XOXO
