The Anticipation is Building!!

Hi All!

Tomorrow is the BIG DAY!!!  Can't wait to pull the names out of the hat for my 1st Anniversary Blog Giveaway.  Please check back here to see who the winners are!  My family, Jake (my sweet doggie) and I are all so excited, as we celebrate this venture I call Charmed Confections. On my way home from work today, I will be stopping to pick up an anniversary cake for dessert tonight!  YUM!  I'll cut you a piece!

Halloween is right around the corner, and if you are like me, I couldn't be more thrilled!  I love this time of year when the leaves change colors and fall to the ground.  Jake has been happily playing in the leaves already.  There is an awesome pumpkin patch right down the road from my house and I can see the pumpkins in the fields.  EEEEE!!  It makes me happy!

Currently, I have been busy working on new items to share with you all. As I sculpt, it is amazing to me how these character faces come alive through the clay and a new Charmed Confection is born.  I am having so much fun creating these pieces.  I wish I could do it full time.  Someday ... here I go again ... wishing!

Well, stop by here tomorrow and help me celebrate with the lucky winners!   If you entered in the drawing, you never know, it could be YOU!

Happy Friday Everyone!!!

Angels Among Us? ... and Last Chance to Sign Up for My Anniversary Giveaway!

HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!!  YAY!!!   (To sign up for the GIVEAWAY - scroll down to the next post.)

All I can say is TGIF!!!  Has it been a hard week or what?  This week has been a struggle for me.  But I tell you, I have angels watching over me.  It has been proven to me time and time again.  Thank you, Lord!  This week's folly was I left my credit card at the gas station.  It must have dropped out of my pocket when I was filling up.  I had a lot of things on my mind (which is never good for me - too many distractions and I tend to go into that preoccupied far away daze).  Anyway, a nice man picked up my card, looked up my name, called me, and told me he had it safe.  (Yes, he took the time to track me down - how incredible is that!).  I met him at a crowed place (safety first) and he gave me my card back.  I gave him a gift card to Starbucks because he was so thoughtful!  So, Bill ... thank you for watching out for me!  If I had the money, I would hire a person to just follow me around and pick up the pieces I keep leaving behind ... like my head for one thing.  LOL!

Anyway, moving along ... Wednesday, August 28th, is the last day to sign up for my 1st Year Blog Anniversary!!!  My little dog, Jake and I can't wait to pull the winning names out of the hat!  Sooo exciting!!!  We need to have a trumpet fanfare!!  My daughter plays the saxophone, so maybe she can play us a tune while we are drawing names.  The response the to the giveaway has been overwhelming and I want to THANK YOU ALL for entering and celebrating with me!  Best of luck to all of you ... wish you could all win!

Well, I am off to get some sculpting done.  New items will be appearing in the Charmed Confections Etsy Shoppe soon!  Have a wonderful weekend and I hope you have an angel or two watching over you!  XOXO

Sign up for a Charmed Confections GIVEAWAY!!! Celebrating My 1st Anniversary!!

Hi Everyone!  Me again!

I am having a GIVEAWAY!!

One year ago, I started this blog in the hopes of getting my artwork out there to the public.  It is hard to believe that Charmed Confections' is now celebrating it's 1st Anniversary!  As I look back on this venture, I am so thankful to my family and friends who have spurred me on.  With them at my side, I seriously can do anything.  I just gotta believe it!

I have been selling my art for quite some time now.  I sold on Ebay for years under the name of Woods of Enchantment and sold locally here and there -- selling faeries and such.  Loved it, but never really put my heart & art out there -- promoting myself and my abilities through social media.  Boy, has it ever been a learning experience.  For one thing, I didn't even know what a blog was, let alone how to get one.  This August is a HUGE month for me!  Not only is it Charmed Confections' 1st Anniversary of blogging, but I am happy to say that I am featured in the August issue of Art Doll Quarterly.  It has been quite a stellar year!!   You can say --- I've come a long way, baby!!

It was by meeting other artists who were not afraid to share their knowledge with me, that gave this blog its wings.  To them - Carly, Jody, Marilou, Brenda, Eleasa and Karen, I am forever indebted to you.  These ladies are a force to be reckon with - a super nova, powerhouse of artistic excellence!  I was richly blessed on the day I met them.  They say, God sends you the people you need and he really does.  You just need to be open to find them.  I am so thankful for these people - will they ever know how much?  I do hope so!

So with that being said, Jake (my beloved doggie) and I wanted to have a party of sorts with prizes!!  A GIVEAWAY!!  So here is what we are offering to you!!

New Artwork Available on SpookyTime Jingles on August 13, 2013

Hello my Friends in Bloglandia!

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.  Well, I am happy to say that my sweet, Louie - The Greeting Ghoul sold on Pfatt Marketplace this morning and I couldn't be happier for his new owner (and me too).  It is such a nice feeling to sell one of my pieces and to a new customer!  (Now, don't take me wrong - I LOVE my past Customers too!  A LOT) Anyway, the anticipation starts to build when I sell a piece, until I hear back from them on whether they are pleased or not.  (Glad that I haven't had a complaint yet ... knocking on my head).  :)

Well, here is the next piece available out of the Charmed Confections Sweet Shoppe.  This is One-Eyed Lucinda.  Sweet isn't she?  I named her after Lucille Ball.  Kinda cute, huh?  It must be the hair.  Lucinda is made to hang on the wall and greet your ghoulies when they come for a visit.  She is 21" tall and holds a metal chain with the words SPOOKY spelled out.

Lucinda will be available on www.spookytimejingles.com at midnight on August 12th/August 13th.  So, if you are interested, please check the site and email me - first come, first serve!  Either way, the site is filled with spooktacular Halloween art by incredible artists.  Check it out!

Here are some pictures of my sweet girl, Lucinda!

Sorry Lucinda is SOLD - Thank you, Sherry!

Love these tiny skelly charms resting on the miniature ouija board!!  Hope you do too!

Take care, my friends!  Until then, Jake (my sweet doggie) and I wish you a very restful and happy weekend.

Sneak Peek at New Offering Available on Pfatt Marketplace

Hi there my friends in Blogland,

Wanted to give you a sneak peek at my new art piece that will be available for sale on Pfatt Marketplace on August 10th.  This is Louie - The Greeting Ghoul.  He is 20-1/2" tall by 11" wide (from hand to hand).  He is a sweet New Orleans styled ghoul that will hang on your wall to greet all your ghoulies in your neighborhood.  His body is so unique - an architectual piece that I found and instantly fell in love with.  I hope you love it as much as I do.  He holds a 30" metal chain that has been embellished with glittery tags that spell out the word "Greetings".  Too cute!

So mark your calendars for August 10th and go to www.pfattmarketplace.com at 10am to see all the wonderful offerings all the talented artists have available.

Hugs to you!  LeeAnn
LOUIE IS SOLD!  THANK YOU, JODY!!

Happy Saturday out there in BlogLand!!

I hope you are all doing well and planning something fun or relaxing for your day.  Wanted to let you know that my dear friend, Carly Smith of Boggy Bottom Bayou is hosting a free tutorial on her blog on how to make and embellish those fabulous Halloween pumpkins we all love.  Here is the link to her blog:

In her tutorial, she is making the same pumpkin as featured in the August issue of Art Doll Quarterly  (see picture above).   Also, if you have the August issue of Art Doll, check out her article "The Bling Factor" which offers different techniques on how to embellish any item.  You won't want to miss this!  Check it out!

Well, I have been working very hard on my new offering for Pfatt Marketplace and SpookyTime Jingles - deadlines coming up super fast!  Below is a work in progress picture of the new sculpted heads.  I hope you like them.  I will be listing one of these separately on each site.  Wait till you see their bodies!  Soo different!  You won't find anything like them out there.  I always strive to keep my art unique and fresh, so the collector is truly getting something worth collecting.  :)

Stay tuned for finished pictures!
